We purchased these for our ranch in South Texas. We love them and gave them to my 8 and 4 year old's to build. The 8 year old had no problem building his and the 4 year old needed little guidance. They are up and have been at the ranch for about 6 months and they are still hanging in there with no problems. Great product.

The kit is nice and goes together easily but it's not predator-proof. I had one of these for years but last summer a squirrel chewed his way through the roof overhang and into the opening. I know it was a squirrel because I saw him sitting on the birdhouse, laughing at me. (Luckily the nestlings were already gone by then.) I bought a replacement kit but gave it only 4 stars because it's not squirrel-proof. Then again, the old house lasted at least 10 years and the new one already has chickadees nesting in it, so I guess that's pretty good.

I bought two for my nephews to construct when they came to visit my house last summer. My husband had to help drill holes for the nails so the wood wouldn't split, but otherwise, they were simple to put together. We also painted them and have had them hanging outside for 6 months and they're in great shape! My nephews LOVED putting them together! I would definitely recommend buying this product!
