I bought this and several other kits by the same manufacturer for my 11 and 12 year old to build. They are "experienced" bird house builders so these kits really appealed. My first mistake was not paying close enough attention to the shipping coasts- for $45 dollars worth of kits, I paid an unbelievable $32 in shipping. The quality of the kits at first glance seemed fine, but once we began to build we could easily see that the "new and improved" predrilled holes were inaccurate. The nails as well, were too short to go all the way through the wood and "bite into" the second piece of wood. Many of the nails had burrs on the end leaving them square tippped and blunt rendering them rather useless. My 12 year old completed hers only to pick it up and have it completely fall apart in her hands. I bought 3 of these birdhouses for my grandsons birthday. Out of all the presents he received, he put these together first so the birds would have a place to live. He called and thanked me for the kits. That was amazing!

I purchased 3 different kits from this manufacturer. All three had splintered ends and were not made so the pieces fit together easily. One of the kits had mouldy wood and 2 of them broke in the process of trying to put them together. All were very light weight and flimsy. I would not reccomend these kits to anyone.
