Attracts chickadees (black capped, Carolina, chestnut backed and mountain), tufted titmouse, nuthatches (red-breasted, brown headed and white breasted), wrens (house and Bewick’s) and the downy woodpecker. 10in high, hole size 1-1/4in x 1-3/4in. Droll Yankees nest boxes are designed with all the right features for cavity nesting birds. Exaggerated roof overhang - keeps rain and sun out, keeping eggs and birds dry and temperatures stable. Unique entry hole replicates a natural tree cavity. Side door - easy access for monitoring and cleaning. Ventilation - under eaves and in the floor, for proper air flow. Kerfs on inside front - help fledglings climb out of the box. Predator guard - increase depth of entry. Correct wood thickness - insulates against heat and cold. Nest boxes are made of pine, a resource that renews itself rapidly so that habitats are quickly restored.

Very unique design. There was a lot of thought put into this nest box and the special features from hole shape to the side taper and the large overhangs, sets this box apart from the average nest boxes offered.
This Chalet design protects the nesters from the elements and the predators - if reasonable caution is taken when mounting and locating this box. (good instructions and suggestions are included)
This box will be special in our Bluebird trail.

On the other hand: I was confused by the order form and assumed I was getting 2 boxes for $50 plus shipping. (Must order in 2's ?)
But,..only one box was sent.
