Our Kestrel Birdhouse includes an internal perch (shown in photo with door open) so mother and babies can keep an eye out for their next meal.
The house should be placed in an open area, such as in a meadow or along a highway.
Wood chips are included with our Kestrel Birdhouse. The kestrel is welcomed due to its appetite for insects, small rodents, and small reptiles.
Hand crafted at the Coveside workshop in Maine, using durable Eastern White Pine. The wood will naturally age to a beautiful gray color over time, and does not require painting or staining.
Habitat: Lives in towns and cities, parks, farmlands, along highways and in open country.
Range: Breeds from Alaska and Northwest Territories east through Maritime Provinces, and south throughout continent. Winters north to British Columbia, Great Lakes and New England.
